Get your calendars out: On Sept. 30, Allan Hancock College and the Northern Santa Barbara County Bar Association will co-host a Judicial Candidate Forum featuring the two run-off candidates competing for a spot on the Santa Barbara Superior Court bench.

Candidates Jed Beebe and John MacKinnon have agreed to participate in the forum, which will be moderated by former KCOY anchor Drew Sugars.

The forum, which is open to the public, will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Allan Hancock College (building C-40), 800 S. College Drive, in Santa Maria.

Members of the community are encouraged to submit questions for the moderator to ask the candidates. Questions will be selected prior to the forum. Send them to questions@nsbbar.org.

“This is our opportunity as lawyers in this close-knit Santa Maria legal community to offer first-time voters the opportunity to understand the importance and impact of local elections and excitement of local community issues,” Denise Motter, treasurer of the Northern Santa Barbara County Bar Association, said in a press release.
