The Sun would like to clarify a statement made in an article from the May 26 issue titled “Frack that!” Doug Anthony, Santa Barbara County’s deputy director of energy, confirmed rumors with the Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) regarding Venoco Inc. engaging in fracking locally. The state agency had no involvement with the actual operation.
