The Santa Maria-Bonita School District will hold its fall disaster drill on Oct. 29 at 9 a.m. Students and staffers at every school and district building will practice the duck-and-cover, fire evacuation, and search and rescue procedures. The district will also test its emergency radio communication process. According to a press release from the district, individual schools typically hold their own fire, earthquake, safe mode, or bus evacuation drills once a month. The district holds a simultaneous district-wide disaster drill twice a year.
