The Santa Maria Valley Historical Society has announced it will hold the second annual PCPA/Santa Maria Valley Historical Society reception, silent auction, and theatrical performance on Aug. 20 at the Marian Theater on the Allan Hancock College campus in Santa Maria.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the Historical Societyās efforts to keep history alive in Santa Maria. According to a statement from the museum, the organizationās funding was severely cut again this year because of the city of Santa Mariaās budget problems. The reception and silent auction will begin at noon, followed by a performance of PCPAās My Fairytale at 1:30 p.m. My Fairytale is a magical and colorful musical about Hans Christian Anderson and itās making its American premiere here in Santa Maria.
The Marian Theater is located at 800 S. College Drive in Santa Maria. The fundraiser costs $55 per person, and includes the reception, food, and performance.
