Ralph Dunlap Elementary School is looking for a few good blood donors to participate in “Brooklyn’s Blood Drive” on Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Orcutt school.

Dunlap teacher Kelly Sanders is organizing the event in memory of her daughter, Brooklyn. Sanders gave birth to Brooklyn and her twin sister, Aubrey, on Oct. 16, 2007. Brooklyn died shortly after of congenital heart failure. Aubrey, now 13 months old, is doing well.

“I want Brooklyn’s life to help save other people’s lives,” Sanders recently said in the school’s newsletter. “My goal is to find as many blood donors as the days Brooklyn lived: 46.”

For more information about the blood drive or to sign up for a remaining donor appointment, contact Sanders at 938-8536 or bbumblebee@msn.com.
