Mandatory college orientations are usually long, boring, and packed with lots of bland speakers and awkward icebreakers.

But thanks to Allan Hancock College’s Associated Student Body Government, Hancock’s Bulldog Bow-WOW! orientation will include free food, music, and even karaoke. Oh, there will also be some information on college programs and essential students resources, such as tutoring and financial aid, as well as time to meet faculty and staff members.

Bow-WOW! events will be held at both the Santa Maria campus and at the Lompoc Valley Center (LVC). The Santa Maria event takes place on Aug. 31, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Student Center (Building G). The Lompoc event will take place Sept. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the center courtyard.

For more information about Bulldog Bow-WOW!, call or e-mail Stephanie Robb at the Santa Maria campus at 922-6966, Ext. 3229, or srobb@hancockcollege.edu, or Joe Adams at the Lompoc Valley Center at 735-3366, Ext. 5249, or jadams@hancockcollege.edu.
