Earlier this month, the Allan Hancock College Foundation renewed terms for four of its directors, elected two new directors, and elected new officers for 2009.

The college announced in a recent press release that members returning for additional terms are Bob Rhodus, Ernest De Gasparis, Joannie Jamieson, and Mario Juarez. The 2009 officers are Joannie Jamieson as president, Mario Juarez as vice president, Judy Frost as secretary, and Michael Gibson as treasurer. Jamieson, Juarez, and Frost are all serving in their positions for the second year. Gibson is serving his fourth year as treasurer.

The two new members elected to the foundation board were Mary Sharp and Kate Ferguson.

The college also recently recognized three departing board members: Peter Robbins, Eddie Stanfield, and Royce Lewellen. Stanfield and Lewellen each served the board for 15 years.

Tim Flemming, executive director of the Allan Hancock College Foundation, said in the release that the mission of the foundation is to support academic achievement among the college’s students and faculty.Ā

ā€œThe most important role we can play in supporting our community college is to strive to bring in additional financial resources to provide more scholarships for deserving and qualified students, to support faculty and to assist the college in meeting its capital needs in areas of equipment and facilities,ā€ Flemming said in the release.
