Vandenberg Air Force Base has a tremendous economic impact on the Central Coast and is required to do business with local vendors whenever possible. That’s the topic of an upcoming joint meeting of the Santa Maria Manufacturers Association and the city’s Chamber of Commerce Business Development Committee, set for June 22.

The meeting’s featured speaker will be James A. Mastin, small business program manager for the 30th Space Wing at Vandenberg. Mastin will discuss how local businesses can register and qualify to bid on projects and provide services for the base.

The presentation is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. at VTC Enterprises, 2445 A St. in Santa Maria. There’s no charge to attend, and breakfast will be provided by the Chamber of Commerce. Seating is limited.

For more information or to RSVP, e-mail edc@santamaria.com or call 925-2403, Ext. 817.
