There will be a free financial aid workshop at Allan Hancock College on Feb. 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Academic Resource Center (ARC), building L-South, on the Santa Maria campus.

The event is open to anyone interested in attending Allan Hancock College and to current students who have not yet completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2012-13 academic year.

People planning to attend the workshop must bring financial and other information, including their Social Security numbers; 2011 federal income tax return and W-2 forms; records of untaxed income for 2011 (child support, disability, workman’s comp, etc.); Permanent Resident Card Number (if not a U.S. citizen); and a completed FAFSA worksheet (download the worksheet at www.fafsa.gov).

Dependent students also need to bring the following information about their parents: Social Security number; 2011 federal income tax return and W-2 forms; records of untaxed income from 2011 (same as for students); and the completed parent portion of student’s FAFSA worksheet.
