Beginning this summer, Allan Hancock College students won’t have to stand in line to register for classes anymore, college officials recently announced in a press release.
Hancock is using Measure I funds to update all of its operations technology, including a simplified online class registration process and student records.
The new operations system replaces the traditional college schedule of classes with an online searchable database called “class search.” The system will also provide students with 24-hour access to services, such as admissions, registration, schedule adjustments, grades searches, transcripts, and more.
The summer 2010 class search, which includes both credit and Community Education classes, is now available on the college’s website, hancockcollege.edu. Also starting this summer, all Hancock students will apply to the
college online via a new admissions application process.
College officials said in the release that one of the benefits of the new system is that once a new student has applied to the college, he or she will never have to apply again, regardless of how many semesters have passed between attendances.
