Opera lovers throughout the Central Coast are invited to celebrate “An Evening at the Opera,” presented by the Community Partners in Caring on June 20.

The event will benefit the Clergy Waiters Night Fundraiser, with proceeds directly helping support community seniors with screenings, lunches, materials, staffers, and coordinating events.

Pastors, ministers, and religious leaders serve guests at this year’s event. Anyone interested in nominating a pastor to be a part of the evening should know: It’s not too late.

“We have clients all throughout the Central Coast area, from Nipomo to Santa Ynez,” said Community Partners in Caring Executive Director Ashley Payne. “We provide services to seniors 62 and older. If anyone needs assistance, we are here to help. … We hope to bring quality entertainment to the community and raise $30,000 to increase the services we give to the community.”

The opera evening will be take place at the Radisson Hotel at 455 Skyway Drive in Santa Maria. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a wine reception and silent auction. Then at 6:30, dinner will be served with entertainment from opera singer Peter Benecke, followed by a live auction with state champion auctioneer Jim Glines. The host for the evening will be Doug Nelson. Jim Beebe, honorable member of the community, will also be there.

Tickets for the event are set at $50 per person, or $500 for a table of 10 attendees. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available by calling 925-8000 or 737-1976. m
