“Montecito, like all of our local fire departments, keeps their equipment in very good condition, and this engine will work for us for years to come,” David Senior, the department’s director/instructor of fire, safety, and emergency medical services, said in a press release. “It will be a great asset as we look forward to our new Public Safety Training Complex.”
The donated engine has an enclosed cab and some of the latest technologies available, Senior said in the release. It will be the newest engine in Hancock’s fleet of four, and will replace an older model in need of repair. In addition to the fire engine, the Montecito Fire Department also donated tools and other equipment to Hancock, including hoses, cutting tools, a generator, and a mobile VHF radio.
