The Wildling Museum of Art and Nature in Solvang premiered a new virtual exhibit, Solvang School: Bird Studies, on May 14, which showcases a collection of bird paintings by middle school students enrolled in Solvang School’s art and science elective class.Ā

The featured artworks in the exhibit were created while the students took part in a virtual lecture series, via Zoom, offered by the Wildling Museum, focused on the art and birdwatching of John James Audubon. Students learned about bird anatomy during the program, which also included bird drawing lessons. The class then completed a series of watercolor paintings, which became the basis of the exhibit.

The artworks are available to view online, through Sept. 12, at wildlingmuseum.org.
