The Wildling Museum hosts a national traveling exhibition organized by the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wisconsin, Birds in Art 2014, showing June 12 through Aug. 10. The Yawkey Woodson museum plays host to a juried competition for the finest bird art in the world each year, and only the finest creations make it through to the touring exhibition.

Artwork includes sculpture, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and block prints inspired by birds. An opening reception event is June 12 at 5:30 p.m. The Santa Barbara Natural History Museum will donate models of a few species of local birds for the show as well.

The Wildling Museum—located at 1511-B Mission Dr., Solvang—is the only California venue where Birds in Art 2014 shows. The museum received support from The Towbes Foundation and the Patti Jacquemain Exhibition Fund.

A Glass Art Trunk Show event happens on June 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the museum. The show includes featured artist Claudia Ariss of Eye Candy Glassworks and her stained glass art.
