Portals and Pathways, a new, multisensory art installation at the Wildling Museum of Nature and Art in Solvang, debuted in April and is scheduled to remain on display through February 2023. Santa Barbara-based artist Kerrie Smith created the installation, which is located in the museum’s Michele Kuelbs Tower Gallery.

On Sunday, May 22, the museum will host an Artist Talk with Smith from 4 to 6 p.m. Portals and Pathways showcases a combination of Smith’s abstract paintings, poetry, and nature-based photography. Guests can expect to hear ambient sounds of crashing waves and animal life, recorded by Smith, as they view the installation.

Smith will continuously update the installation throughout the next several months, based on the changing seasons. Call (805) 688-1082 or visit wildlingmuseum.org for more details. The Wildling Museum of Art and Nature is located at 1511 Mission Drive, unit B, Solvang.
