PCPA Theaterfest will offer two productions in a stage-less play-reading format. InterPlay: The Stage Between gives audiences a chance to hear a play read aloud without the adornments of a full-fledged production. Evie’s Waltz features education and outreach director Leo Cortez as Clay, resident artist Kitty Balay Genge as Gloria, and second-year acting student Michelle Ehresman as Evie. The narrator is Robert Sorey. Gloria and Clay learn their son was suspended for having a gun at school, which he and his girlfriend bought on the Internet. During a backyard barbecue, Evie shows up with blood on her shoulder as a gunshot rings out. The show plays March 6 at 7 p.m., March 7 at 7 p.m., March 14 at 2 p.m., and March 15 at 2 p.m.

The second play, Iron Kisses, is about the mysteries of family and how the roles we play are as inescapable as they are comfortable. It’s about people doing the best they can, how families evolve, how they grow up, and how they can surprise. Iron Kisses plays March 7 at 2 p.m., March 8 at 2 p.m., March 13 at 7 p.m., and March 14 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for one reading and $11.25 for the second reading. For tickets and more information, call 922-8313 or visit pcpa.org.
