The Allan Hancock College film and video program is gearing up for the fifth annual “Wired Weekend 2-Day Filmmaking Challenge” happening April 19 through 21.
The “Wired Weekend” challenge is for student teams that must make a short movie in two days. Participants will receive a partial script on April 19 at 4 p.m. The short films must be turned in by April 21 and will be screened May 11 in conjunction with the college’s annual film festival event.
All amateur filmmakers and students are able to apply, but must have a high school or college student lead the group of five. First prize for the event is $500; second place is $200. The competition is open to students in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
