It’s not too early to start preparing for the second annual Tri-the-Bull Triathlon, an event organized by the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department.
The triathlon takes place Aug. 7 at Pioneer Valley High School, and consists of a half-mile swim, 7-mile bike ride, and 3-mile run.
Cost is $40 per person or $105 for a three-person relay team. Participants must be 15 years or older and will receive a T-shirt and an event medal. Awards will also be given to first- and second-place finishers in each division.
Registration ends July 30, and forms are available online or can be picked up at the Recreation and Parks Department office, 615 S. McClelland St.
