Tri City Sound, a Sweet Adelines International Chorus serving Lompoc and Santa Maria valleys, recently presented four music scholarships to college-bound high school seniors: Emilee Conforti of Santa Maria (Righetti), Kelsie Earnest of Orcutt (Righetti), Theresa Gonzalez Ortega of Guadalupe (Righetti), and Madeline Lopez of Santa Maria (Pioneer Valley).
Each scholarship winner participated in her respective high schoolās vocal music program for a minimum of two years and plans to participate in a college or junior college vocal music program.
Tri City Sound is affiliated with Sweet Adelines International, a nonprofit organization that offers traditional tunes in four-part barbershop harmony. The chorus is open to all women interested in learning about barbershop-style music, singing, performing, and sisterhood.
Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 4725 S. Bradley Road in Orcutt. For more information about Tri City Sound, visit TriCitySound.org, call 736-1874, or e-mail tricitysound@comcast.net.
