Some of the best bull riders in the world will be in Santa Maria at the Elks Unocal Event Center on Oct. 18 for the last stop in the Championship Bull Riding, Inc. tour. Since it’s the last show of the season, the top spot in professional bull riding is up for grabs.

Cooper Kanngiesser, currently first in the championship’s standings, is scheduled to ride, as is Danny McDowell, currently second in standings; Chad Castillo, third; and Steve Woosley, fourth. Following close behind the top four are Jay Morro, Corey Davis, Howdy Cloud, and Travis Sellers.

All of the riders will be making their bid for the championship atop some of the best bulls from around the world. And there’s one more thing: The event is also a benefit for Tough Enough to Wear Pink, benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. If the winning rider is wearing pink, he’ll receive a bonus for the evening and a donation will be made in his name to the Relay for Life.

Advance tickets are available at the Elks Lodge in Santa Maria for $30 or $50, depending on the seats.
