The Santa Maria Public Library’s Shepard Hall Gallery houses magnificent art exhibitions each month throughout the year and is open to the public to view for free. The library is currently holding open registration for artists from Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties through Jan. 2 at 6 p.m.

The library’s goal is to provide exhibitions that include a variety of media, concepts, and subject matters. The library’s art advisory committee will jury works provided by local artists; selections will show for a one-month period between February and August 2014.
