The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center has received funding from the Santa Barbara County Coastal Resource Enhancement Fund and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce for a continuation of the excavation of a sphinx statue from the Cecil B. DeMille Ten Commandments set that is submerged in Guadalupe dune sands.
The Dunes Center is in need of another $9,000 in order to fully fund the project. Donations can be made at the Dunes Center’s website at dunescenter.org. More information is available at 343-2455 or admin@dunescenter.org.
