The Cabrillo High School Girls’ Varsity Team will host a softball game on April 25 against Lompoc police officers to raise money for the Lompoc Police Department’s Relay for Life.
The teams will hit the diamond at Cabrillo High School’s softball field at 11 a.m. The Cabrillo ladies’ team will bring the heat by throwing fastpitch, while the police team will throw slowpitch.
“I am confident that the officers will be gentlemen and not embarrass the Cabrillo team too badly,” said Lompoc Police Chief Timothy Dabney.
Admission is $2, which can be paid at the gate and goes to support the battle against cancer. Barbecued hamburgers and soda will be available at the game.

The annual game is scheduled for April 24 at 7 p.m. in the Santa Maria High School gymnasium. Tickets cost $5 for general admission and $3 for students, with proceeds going to benefit the Santa Maria High School athletic department.
