Submitted proposals are currently being considered for the Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture for a new sculpture installation on State Street in Santa Barbara. The call to artists is open to all professional artists or teams aged 18 years or older working or residing in Santa Barbara County.
The work needs to accommodate pedestrian foot traffic. Artists don’t need to create a new sculpture for the project, and can submit or loan existing work, and submit multiple sculptures for consideration. More than one sculpture may be selected from the same artist. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 1, 2018.
The county officeāalong with the Community Arts Workshopāwill co-host an informational session for serious interested artists from 5 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 13 at 631 Garden St., Santa Barbara. The chosen artists will receive an honorarium of $750 per sculpture. The Office of Arts and Culture will manage the transportation, installation, and maintenance of each piece.
