The Friends of the Santa Maria Public Library are sponsoring the Splendid Sale of Superior Books from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6 and 7, in Shepard Hall at the library. Special items include history titles, art books, collectable sets, children’s books, signed first editions, and framed prints. Leading up to the sale, tickets may be purchased for a large basket of items made and donated by local artisans. See the basket on display at the Library Shop; tickets cost $1 apiece. The drawing will be held the afternoon of May 7, and ticket holders need not be present to win. All proceeds from this event will go to support children and adult library programs.

For more information, call the Library Shop at 925-7116 or Nancy Marriott at 868-9933.
