The Santa Maria Babe Ruth 13s, 14s, and the Orcutt 15s teams are all preparing for a trip to the State Championship Tourney.

The Santa Maria 14s sealed the deal with a 6-3 win over Orcutt in San Luis Obispo. Santa Maria tied up the game 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth only to score four times and take the win.

Santa Maria 13s made things exciting with a late-game victory over Paso Robles. Down to the 7th inning and two outs, Santa Maria pushed seven runs across the plate. Nathan Guzman, the No. 9 batter, drove in five runs for the team. The team will move on to the state tourney in Lodi.

The Orcutt 15s dominated the championship tourney with a 4-0 record. Stellar pitching helped carry the team to a 5-3 win over Lompoc and 7-2 over Atascadero; they defeated Arroyo Grande twice to take the title with a 4-1 win followed by a 3-2 victory. Orcutt will head to Fresno July 12 through 17 for the state championship tourney.
