The Solvang and Buellton libraries will host two individual maker workshops to teach the construction of handmade catapults on Nov. 4 and Nov. 11, respectively.

The workshop will teach about catapults, an ancient weapon more than 2,400 years old. The makerspace projects will be made out of popsicle sticks and will launch pom-poms and cotton balls. All ages welcome; children under 8 must have an adult with them.

The Solvang maker workshop takes place Nov. 4 from 1 to 2 p.m. at 1745 Mission Drive, Solvang. The Buellton workshop takes place Nov. 11 from 4 to 5 p.m. at 140 Highway 246, Buellton. Space is limited; signups are available for Solvang at 688-4214 or Buellton at 688-3115.
