The Santa Maria Civic Theatre (SMCT) presents a Readers Theatre production of 12 Angry Men on Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. both evenings, and on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The setting is New York City in 1957, and the story follows a jury determining the verdict in a murder case whose defendant faces the death penalty if found guilty. Debates begin when a single juror refuses to align his vote with the other 11, preventing a unanimous decision.
Tickets to 12 Angry Men range from $5 to $10 and are available in advance at my805tix.com. For more info on the production and other upcoming shows at SMCT, call (805) 922-4442 or visit smct.org. The theater is located at 1660 N. McClelland St., Santa Maria.
