Young basketball fans and future NBA stars will be able to keep in shape and learn a few new moves at the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department’s annual basketball camp, held June 12 to 21 at Edwards Community Center.

The camp, under the direction of Coach Josef Holicky, is for boys and girls ages 7 to 12, and is designed to improve all aspects of a child’s game through a variety of passing, shooting, dribbling, and fast break drills. Class for ages 7 to 9 meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.; and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for ages 10 to 12.

The cost is $27 for city residents and $33.50 for non-residents, which includes a commemorative program T-shirt. Registrations will be accepted at the Recreation and Parks Department, 615 S. McClelland St.

For more information, call the Recreation and Parks Department, 925-0951, Ext. 260.
