Linda (Rachel McAdams) is great at her job—too great. Credit for her work is overlooked or stolen by her superiors. When the one person she connected with—the boss—dies, Linda’s hope of moving up is crushed by his douchebag son and nepo-baby CEO Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien). He’s disgusted by her immediately, dismissive and rude.

Soon enough, the two and others are on a plane to try and land a client, and when that plane goes down, Linda and Preston are left alone on a beach. What we learn shortly before the crash is that Linda auditioned for Survivor, and she’s a diehard fan. Because of that, she’s able to keep the two alive, even with Preston having an injured leg.

What ensues feels at first like a corny rom-com twist is on the horizon, but what comes is much better—and much darker. Linda leans into the island life, and when Preston senses she may not be trying to get rescued, he revolts. Things don’t go as planned for either character, and we end up with a twisted tale with some pretty surprising moments. It is definitely worth streaming—you’ll want to brush up on your survival skills after this one. (114 min.)
