The Santa Ynez Valley Historical Museum will bring its 32nd annual Vaquero Show and Sale event to the museum on the weekend of Nov. 11 through 13. The annual tradition is a fundraiser for the museum that features special events, demonstration, performances, and art for show and sale, all of which celebrate the cultural heritage of the vaquero.

The weekend festivities begin with the Viva los Vaqueros preview dinner and party on Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. where attendees can go on an early shopping spree and enjoy food, wine, and live music by Steve Woods. A special recognition ceremony follows at 6:30 p.m. and celebrates the family that founded Rancho San Julian. The gala dinner by JR Catering is at 7:30 p.m. Cost for the evening’s festivities is $90, $80 for members.

The Vaquero Show and Sale runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 12 at the museum, where admission is $5 for a day pass. There will be a roping demonstration by Pat and Deb Puckett at 11 a.m., musical entertainment by Ron Miller from noon to 4 p.m., and a live roping demonstration by Boone Campbell and others at 2 p.m. A Cowboy Campfire event with poetry by Dan Hess and music by Art Green is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The show and sale runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 13 with a roping demonstration at 11 a.m. Live music by Owen Johnston is from noon to 3 p.m. A raffle for a custom bridle set is drawn at 1 p.m.
