The Santa Ynez Valley Arts Association has issued a call to local high school seniors who are studying art to apply for a scholarship offered by the organization’s General Scholarship Fund. The association plans to give individual merit awards that may range from $500 to $2,500 to students who will graduate from a Santa Ynez Valley school and will attend an accredited college, university, or art school.

Interested students can get ahold of the scholarship application form and directions for submitting a portfolio from the art department of their high school or download them directly from santaynezvalleyarts.org. Applicants must submit the completed application along with a portfolio of seven pieces of original artwork to be judged by a scholarship committee by the deadline of April 28.

Applications can also be sent via snail mail at Artists Guild, P.O. Box 1008, Santa Ynez, CA, 93460. More information is available at info@santaynezvalleyarts.org.
