The Santa Ynez Valley Arts Association (SYVAA) is offering art scholarships to graduating seniors from Santa Ynez Valley high schools. Graduating seniors from accredited home schooling programs are also eligible for SYVAA scholarships. The deadline for students to apply is May 4.

The SYVAA will also give individual merit awards to students who will attend an accredited college, university, or art school. Graduating seniors who wish to apply for the scholarships and awards must submit a portfolio of seven pieces of original artwork to be judged by professional artists selected by the Scholarship Committee of the SYVAA.

The SYVAA scholarship program strives to reward qualified students who have shown an active interest in the visual arts and to help defray their college expenses. The selection process is based on art and academic achievement, the desire for future involvement in the art field, and community service.

The SYVAA scholarship program is made possible by donations to the association’s general scholarship fund. Graduating seniors interested in applying can download the 2017 scholarship application form and directions from the SYVAA website, santaynezvalleyarts.org. More info: info@santaynezvalleyarts.org.
