You might have noticed the classic-looking train cars parked next to the Santa Maria Transit Center on Miller Street in Santa Maria. Though the historic locomotive, boxcars, and caboose are behind a fence, locals have the opportunity to explore the insides of the classic railcars twice a month.

The Santa Maria Valley Railway Historical Museum offers open tours and walk-through opportunities on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from noon to 4 p.m. at the museum, corner of Boone and Miller streets, next to the Santa Maria Transit Center.
