The Santa Maria Discovery Valley Museum has teamed up with an acclaimed children’s performing arts program called Pyjama Drama to host several sessions for kids ages 6 months to 7 years old. The lead teacher for the program is Megan Walker, who has performed with PCPA, the Great American Melodrama, and the SLO Little Theatre.

Sessions run Fridays through Dec. 16 at 9 a.m. and combine several aspects of the performing arts. The classes also help kids develop skills like concentration, confidence, communication, and cooperation.

“Pyjama Drama is a natural partner for the Discovery Museum,” Walker said in a press release. “Our unique program combines the disciplines of drama, movement, music, and play, which helps kids explore and make sense of the world in which they live.”

Cost is $60 for the six-week course. A second sibling receives a 15 percent discount and the third sibling can attend for free. More information is available through the Discovery Museum at 928-8414, smvdiscoverymuseum.org, or programs@smvdiscoverymuseum.org or through Megan Walker at megan@pyjamadrama.com.
