The city of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is currently seeking video submissions for its new virtual talent contest—Show Us Your Talent: We’ll Make it Shine—through its deadline on Friday, July 31. The contest is open to community members of all ages to showcase their unique talents via video entries.
Participants are asked to submit short, family-friendly videos that are one minute or less in length. Each video should showcase a special talent, such as singing, dancing, cooking skills, or a comedy routine. Prizes will be awarded between three age categories: ages 12 and under, ages 13 to 17, and adults.
Entries can be sent through Facebook Messenger to the department’s Facebook page, facebook.com/smrecandparks, where more info on the contest can also be found. Applicants are asked to include their name and age category designation in their message. Once winners are selected, the winning videos will be compiled into a virtual talent show presentation for the community to enjoy.
