Central Coast Live Read presents a live reading of writer-director James Cameron’s screenplay for his 1997 blockbuster, Titanic, at the Historic Santa Maria Inn on Friday, Nov. 8, from 7 to 10 p.m. Entry to the show is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit the Ian M. Hassett Foundation, which provides scholarships and other resources to local students and artists. The nonprofit is dedicated to the memory of Ian M. Hassett, an Orcutt resident and aspiring artist who died of cancer at age 19 in 2012. For more info on the foundation, visit ianmhassett.com.

Central Coast Live Read has been hosting live script readings to benefit the foundation since 2016, with past productions including Toy Story, Back to the Future, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Napoleon Dynamite, and A Bug’s Life.
