The city of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is holding the annual Lights, Sights, and Holiday Nights Decoration Contest event open to city residents.
Nominations are now being accepted through Nov. 30 for several categories, including Best of Show, Neighborhood Spirit, Best Animation, Best Craftsmanship, Lifetime Achievement, and Best Decorated Residence in the city’s four different quadrants.
Judging for the Lights, Sights, and Holiday Nights Decoration Contest will happen Dec. 1 through 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. Winners will be announced on Dec. 5. The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department will judge and recognize participants within city limits, and the Santa Maria Valley Lions Club will judge and recognize participants in the unincorporated Orcutt area.
