The Santa Maria Civic Theatre offers its annual Free Summer Fairy Tales event for kids and families, featuring an original story and a well-known tale. Each production will include a performance of With the Wild Things: In the Animal Kingdom and Pinocchio. The shows happen on Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. on July 18, 19, 25, and 26 as well as Saturday and Sunday matinee shows at 1:30 p.m. on July 19, 20, 26, and 27.
Santa Maria Civic Theater volunteer Sarah Willingham wrote and will direct With the Wild Things: In the Animal Kingdom. The play follows the story of two puppies that have an adventure through a wild world, meeting many members of the animal kingdom along the way. The production is open to families and kids for free.
Auditions for the upcoming production of The Dixie Swim Club will happen July 21 and 22 at 7 p.m. at the theater, 1660 N. McClelland St., Santa Maria.
