Performances pick back up at the Santa Maria Civic Theatre (SMCT) with Always, Patsy Cline, which runs every weekend from Jan. 9 to 25.
“The show combines humor, sadness, and heartfelt moments, providing a nostalgic look back at Cline’s life and career,” according to the theater. “The funny and heartwarming script is perfect for the intimate setting at SMCT, and the live band onstage is sure to have audiences laughing, clapping, and singing along.”
Based on a true story, Always, Patsy Cline tells the tale of friendship between the singer and a devoted fan, Louise Seger, until Cline’s death in a 1963 plane crash.
The show is directed by Kyle Ruiz-Hawkins. Actors Andrea Hilbrant and Sally Buchanan assume the roles of Cline and Seger, respectively.
Musical director Rachel Mello will oversee the live band featuring a guitar, harmonica, fiddle, bass, and drums.
Performances are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 1:30 p.m. Buy tickets online at my805tix.com.
