The Santa Maria Civic Theatre delivered two readers theater performances of Lot’s Wife, a new play by local playwright Dixie Arthur, who also teaches drama at Righetti High School. Arthur’s former student, Weston Scott, directed the show, which he described as a testament to feminine strength.

The main character recounts the key experiences in her life, struggling with the pain of the past with honesty and humor. Arthur said in the release that the chance to stage the play in a readers theater format was a welcome experience for her as an artist.

“I am blown away by the talented actors who volunteered to perform in my play,” she said. “It is so exciting to hear and see the characters I’ve only heard in my head until now. I am beyond excited about this opportunity and grateful to those who are bringing this show to life.”
