The Santa Maria Arts Council plans to award its 2016 Individual Grants in the Arts during a special showcase event on May 9, where recipients of first and second place in music, dance, and acting will perform, while visual arts winners will display their work. The Arts Council’s Individual Grants in the Arts is a yearly tradition that awards $1,000 to second place winners and $1,500 to first place winners.
Attendees are welcome to enjoy the art, a gourmet deli meal, dessert, wine, and meeting time with the artists beginning at 5:30 p.m. with performances and awards at 6:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Center, 313 W. Tunnell, Santa Maria. More information is available at smartscouncil.org.
