Those interested in applying for the Santa Maria Arts Council’s Individual Grants in the Arts competition must attend an upcoming workshop about the application process. Those interested in applying and competing for grants in dance, drama, music, and the visual arts can attend the workshop on March 7, which begins at 10 a.m. at Allan Hancock College, Room F-11, 800 S. College, Santa Maria.
Applicants must be at least 12 years old and must have studied art in Santa Barbara County for at least two years. First and second place grants are awarded in the four categories, with $1,000 awarded to second place and $1,500 awarded to first place. The application deadline for participants is March 27. Winners must perform at a showcase event to be rewarded.
