Both the cities of Santa Maria and Solvang present their own respective Concerts in the Park series and Movies in the Park screenings through August.
The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department offers its Concerts in the Park event on July 12 at Los Flores Ranch Park showcasing The Crisptones Band, July 19 at Rotary Centennial Park with Soul’d Out, July 26 at Rotary Centennial with the Damon Castillo Band, Aug. 2 at Rotary Centennial with Calo, Aug. 9 at Rotary Centennial with The Molly Ringwald Project, Aug. 16 at Rotary Centennial with Steppin’ Out, Aug. 23 at Rotary Centennial with Unfinished Business, and Aug. 30 at Preisker Park with the Drive-In Romeos. All concerts are from 1 to 3 p.m.
Solvang’s Concerts in the Park series features Live Wire performing on July 15, T-Bone Ramblers on July 22, Black Train on July 29, Smack Daddy on Aug. 12, and the SYV Jazz Band on Aug. 19. All concerts are at the Solvang Park Gazebo from 5 to 8 p.m.
Santa Maria’s Movies in the Park includes a screening of Mary Poppins on July 11 at Preisker Park, Frozen on July 25 at Grogan Park, The Sandlot on Aug. 15 at Pioneer Park, Willy Wonka on Aug. 29 at Rotary Centennial Park, and The Book of Life on Oct. 30. All screenings begin at dusk.
Solvang’s Friday Night Movies in the Park include a screening of Grease on July 10, The Princess and the Frog on July 24, How to Train Your Dragon 2 on Aug. 7, and Guardians of the Galaxy on Aug. 21, all at Solvang Park at dusk.
