The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors recognized the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation at the Dec. 2 meeting with a resolution acknowledging the foundation as the recipient of the 2014 Leadership in the Arts Award. The Leadership in the Arts Award was established in 2006 by the Santa Barbara County Arts Commission, which has received support and collaboration from the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation in promoting and fostering youth arts education in the county.

The Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation began its education outreach program in 1998 and has raised close to $1 million to help support and begin several youth arts programs in local schools, as well as support after school programs. In partnership with the county Arts Commission’s Community Arts Enrichment grant program, the foundation has funded programs that increase access to rural and underserved communities in Santa Barbara County.
