The Rocketeer Rollers, a Santa Maria-based roller derby squad, will be holding a series of team fundraisers beginning in May.
The first Tuesday of each month will be Rocketeer Night at Me-N-Ed’s Pizza, located at 560 E. Betteravia Road in Santa Maria. Team members will bus and wait tables from 6 to 8 p.m., with all tips and a percentage of the proceeds going to the team. Attendees will be able to watch derby games on the pizzeria’s big screens and meet the girls.
Also, every first Friday of the month will be “Refuel with the Rocketeers” night at Orcutt Brew, located at 315 S. Broadway, from 8 p.m. to midnight. Players will give guests a “secret phrase” to share with the waitress to get discounts on appetizers and drink specials.
