Instead of watching the NFL on TV, kids can get a chance to emulate their favorite players at the NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick Skills Competition put on by the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department.
The free event will be held on Sept. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hagerman Sports Complex, 3300 Skyway Drive in Santa Maria. Kids ages 8 to 15 are eligible to
compete, and boys and girls will compete separately. The top punters, passers, and kickers will receive awards and advance to the sectional competition to be held in October. Registration will be completed onsite. For more information, call 925-0951.
