Open to all participants in the Santa Maria Valley, the Pitch, Hit, and Run Skills competition returns April 30 at the Hagerman Sports Complex from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free for ages 7 to 14, and its top players will advance to San Luis Obispo for the sectional competition.

Participants will try to throw pitches into an MLB strike zone, hit from home plate using a tee (results based on accuracy and distance), and will be timed running from second to home base.

The event will feature both male and female competitions with several age divisions.

Registration is permitted on the day of the event, which is made possible by the Santa Maria Valley YMCA Boys and Girls Club.
