Written by Marisela TreviƱo Orta, The River Bride has been performed on stages across the U.S. and the U.K. since its premiere at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in 2016. Orta received the National Latino Playwriting Award for the play, described as ā€œa story about stories,ā€ by Marilet Martinez—director of PCPA’s The River Bride—in press materials.

ā€œThis unapologetically poetic play asks us to question the stories we are told as well as the stories we tell about ourselves and others,ā€ Martinez said.Ā

The cast of PCPA’s The River Bride includes Christen Celaya (pictured, left), Rosie Quintana (right), Johnny Valerio, Oscar Emmanuel Fabela, Hugo Carbajal, and Dena Martinez.Ā

To find out more about the new production or purchase tickets, call the PCPA box office at (805) 922-8313 or visit pcpa.org. The Severson Theatre is located at 800 S. College Drive, Santa Maria.
