The Orcutt Youth Softball Association’s 12-and-under girls’ All-Stars took first place in the Amateur Softball Association’s Mid State Madness tournament held in Paso Robles on May 31. The Renegades beat Santa Maria and the Coast Riptide before taking down the Paso Poison 11-3 in the championship game.

The team is currently in its summer tournament season with its sights set on taking part in the regional championships in Bakersfield and the ASA’s Girls’ 12-and-under Fast Pitch Western Championships in Milwaukie, Ore., July 27 to August 2.

The team will raise funds with a barbecue on June 13 in the Albertsons parking lot on Clark Avenue in Orcutt. Tickets for a meal of chicken, beans, salad, and bread cost $8.
